A MESSAGE FROM TAYLOR
Hi! My name is Taylor Hilliard and I began working with Randolph Health Athletic Training in August of 2019. I am currently at Southwestern Randolph High School and it was my first job after finishing my degree.
I completed my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2016. I then started my Master of Science in Athletic Training at Lenoir-Rhyne University, graduating May 2019.
My favorite sports to work so far have been football, basketball and soccer. I’ve played soccer since I was three years old. It was my first love. In addition to soccer, I began playing basketball in middle school and continued that through all four years of high school. I love watching these two sports so working them feels almost like a hobby. I love working football because of the fast pace and adrenaline that rushes through the entire game. It is a sport that I never grew up watching, but really began to enjoy throughout my career in becoming an athletic trainer.
I decided on Athletic Training because I knew I always wanted to be around sports; to be a part of a team. I contemplated several avenues, primarily physical therapy, but found that I loved the idea of being there for my athlete when the initial injury takes place all the way through the process of returning them to play. I wanted to build that rapport and show support throughout each phase of recovery.
A few fun facts about me:
-
I have the biggest sweet tooth you’ll probably ever find.
-
I am a Duke Blue Devil fan for life.
-
I share my home with my golden retriever, Lambert. He is a spoiled baby boy, for sure.
